The nursing management team is fully committed to promoting the construction of the "Healthcare for the Elderly and Children" nursing service system and takes the lead in the development of sub-specialties in nursing such as child and maternal care, geriatric and rehabilitation care, trauma care, and emergency and critical nursing. It has established 11 international, national, and provincial training bases for specialist nurses. The International Enterostomal Therapist School has provided training for students coming from all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government across the country. In addition, the team is a pioneer in implementing nursing techniques such as PICC in neonates, neonatal pain management, stoma site selection and care, difficult wound treatment, nasogastric intubation care, pediatric respiratory rehabilitation care, oncology nursing, and trauma care. Members of the team have participated in the compilation of international nursing guidelines and published 28 books as chief editors or contributors. Four out of their 25 invention patents have been commercialized with a total contract amount of 200,000 RMB. The team was honored with the Provincial Women’s Workshop for Scientific and Technological Innovation. The nursing discipline ranked 51st in the China Hospital Science and Technology Evaluation Metrics (STEM) Rankings 2022.
