·Introduction to The Second School of Medicine
The Second School of Medicine of Wenzhou Medical University (WMU), the Second Affiliated Hospital and Yuying Children’s Hospital, and the Provincial Yuying Hospital implement an integrated operation and management mechanism under the same leadership team. The school provides educational programs for undergraduate, master, and doctoral medical students. There are five administration departments: General Affairs Office, Teaching Affairs Department, Student Affairs Office, Graduate and Postgraduate Education Department, and Graduate Student Affairs Office.
The school has 4 Primary Category Discipline Ph.D. Programs (Clinical Medicine, Basic Medicine, etc.) and 13 Primary Category Discipline Master Programs (Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, Medical Technology, Nursing, etc.). It serves as a practice base for both undergraduate and postgraduate overseas students of clinical medicine at WMU, thus establishing an all-round, multi-level talent development system encompassing the education of undergraduate, master, doctor, post-doctor, post-graduation, and overseas students.
The undergraduate education follows a five-year consistent system. It offers ten programs in Clinical Medicine, Clinical Medicine (5+3), Clinical Medicine (5+3, Pediatrics), Clinical Medicine (5+3, Anesthesiology), Pediatrics, Anesthesiology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Rehabilitation Therapy, Sports Rehabilitation, and Audiology and Speech Rehabilitation. The four programs of Clinical Medicine, Pediatrics, Anesthesiology, and Rehabilitation Therapy are selected as national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, and the Traditional Chinese Medicine program as a provincial first-class undergraduate major construction site. At present, the school has over 3,000 undergraduate students.
